Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how meetyousoon (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the meetyousoon.app web application (the “Service”). meetyousoon acts as the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at meetyousoon.app@gmail.com.
1. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to make the Service work:
- Account data: name, email address, profile picture, and authentication identifier provided when you sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password.
- Wedding planning data you create in the app: tasks, budget entries, vendor details, guest list, seating plans, dates, and similar wedding-related content.
- Payment data: when you purchase a plan (Solo or Together), our payment provider Stripe processes your payment details. We never see or store your full card number — only a transaction reference and the plan you purchased.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and basic interaction events, collected automatically when you use the Service.
- Error and diagnostic data: technical reports generated automatically when something goes wrong, used to fix bugs.
2. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Process your payments and deliver the plan you purchased.
- Communicate with you about your account, your purchase, or important changes to the Service.
- Detect, prevent, and fix technical issues, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
We process your data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you signed up for and to process your purchases.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, and improve the product.
- Consent — for any optional analytics or marketing communications, where required.
- Legal obligation — to comply with accounting, tax, and other applicable laws.
You can withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis.
4. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Service — including hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, payment processing, error monitoring, and product analytics. These providers process data on our behalf, under contract, and only as instructed by us.
- Authorities or third parties when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area (notably in the United States). When data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
5. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons (typically up to 10 years for invoicing and tax records under French law).
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where applicable.
- Lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) at www.cnil.fr.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at meetyousoon.app@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service (for example, to keep you logged in). We may also use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used and improve it. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
9. Children
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
